It's the 82nd Annual Boston Common Tree Lighting! Hosted by Mayor Michelle Wu and Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, marking the 52nd year that Nova Scotia has given a tree to the people of Boston as thanks for relief efforts following the explosion of a munitions ship on December 6, 1917.

The ceremony includes the lighting of Boston's official Christmas tree and trees through the Commons and Public Garden. The holiday lights throughout both parks will light up shortly before 8pm with Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer making a special appearance. The ceremony will close with a pyrotechnic display.
