The annual gift of an evergreen Christmas tree from Nova Scotia is arriving by police escort at Boston Common on Tuesday, November 21.

For 52 years, a holiday tree has been donated to the city of Boston, marking 105 years of friendship with Nova Scotia. This commemorates the assistance provided by the people of Boston to Halifax, Nova Scotia, after a catastrophic munitions explosion in 1917. The inaugural tree for Boston was donated in 1971 by Joseph Slauenwhite from Lunenburg County.
