The birds are back at Stone Zoo! Masters of Flight: Birds of Prey features more than a dozen different bird species from around the world, including the bald eagle, bateleur eagle, Egyptian vulture, military macaw, spectacled owl and white-necked raven, in this engaging, memorable and educational experience for visitors of all ages.

These birds fly in from overhead and demonstrate natural behaviors including unique survival techniques and food foraging, as well as specialized physical adaptations.

The show runs May 5 through September 3. Daily show times are 11am, 1pm, & 3pm in the amphitheater. There is no admittance while the show is in progress.

An ensemble cast of 2nd-4th graders brings the classic tale to life. The story paints a picture of childhood on the farm, in which the power of true friendship can conquer anything. 

May 18 7pm; May 19 1pm; May 20 1pm.

Kids discover plants and animals of the reservation. Activities vary, and can include bird watching, leaf pile jumping, digging in mulch, leaf rubbings, book reading, and gathering treasure.

Meet at the Water Department Parking lot. Parking passes available for non-Cambridge residents. Bring your own snacks.

The free festival is a family-friendly celebration for the Earth, showcasing national and local music acts, environmentally-friendly products and local non-profit environmental organizations produced in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The annual Belmont Town Day features games, food, music, kiddie rides and, of course, the famous dunk tank.

Activities include nature walks and native garden tours, musical performances, kid's crafts, storytelling, nature activities, Davey the Clown, Water Treatment Plant tours, gardening demonstrations and displays, Fire Department demonstrations and equipment, Black's Nook Open House, Storywalk Interactive children’s activity and more.

Note: Parking will be very limited at the event locations.  Alternate parking will be available at the Tobin School, 197 Vassal Lane, Cambridge. We are encouraging Cambridge residents to walk, ride a bicycle, or take public transportation to Alewife Station or the # 72 Bus to Huron Ave (From Harvard Station.)

Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) invites children to try out cellos, violins, guitars and an electric keyboard and be treated to a performance by some of their students. Perfect for families contemplating music lessons.

Come fly a kite for this longstanding Franklin Park tradition. The first 50 people receive a free kite, and there are plenty of others for purchase. Boston Bikes has free bike "rentals" and helmets for all size riders so you can explore the park on wheels or join a guided tour. On the Franklin Park Playstead between White Stadium and the back of the Zoo.

Children listen to stories about gardening and planting and take part in a craft.
