Turtle's New HomePuppet Showplace Theatre, Brookline
Through 4/6
Tickets: $12

New England animals are the stars of this puppet show about friends in a wetland habitat. The little pond where Blanding the turtle has lived for many years is no longer safe because a road has been built between there and the place she goes to lay her eggs. When she meets young Castor the Beaver, who is eager to build a dam, she sees that her problems might be solved! Along the way, we also meet a young boy and his nature-loving babysitter who learn together how to look closely at nature.

Brundibar and But the Giraffe!Central Square Theater, Cambridge

To care for their ailing mother, two children must buy milk. Penniless, they sing in the marketplace to raise money. However, evil organ grinder Brundibar has other plans. A fairytale opera for the entire family, Brundibar celebrates the triumph of the helpless over tyranny and the transformative power of art. Originally performed by children at the Terezin concentration camp, Brundibar was adapted by Pulitzer Prize Winner Tony Kushner. Performance includes his companion piece, But the Giraffe! Produced by the Underground Railroad.
