The Seaport is partnering with the New York Chinese Cultural Center to bring an intergenerational Lunar New Year celebration to life to mark the Year of the Wood Dragon.
Activities include:
Chinese Lion Dance (1pm-4pm)
On the cobblestones outside 12 Fulton Street
Chinese Calligraphy Workshop (2pm, 3pm 4pm)
12 Fulton Street | FREE
Use a traditional calligraphy brush to write simple Chinese characters while exploring the relationship between ancient Chinese pictographs and their modern-day ideographs. Best for ages 7-12. Advance registration is required.
Nautical Chinese Lion Chains (11am-4:30pm)
Create your own decoration using paper links inspired by colorful signal flags that sailors use to communicate.
