Looking for pumpkin patches near Dallas-Fort Worth that promise a fun family day? The first step is to decide exactly what your crew can handle. Do you want a short visit with pumpkins, photo ops, maybe a game or two? Or do you want a day trip to experience the full farm festival?

1. Dallas Arboretum - East Dallas

Open September 20 - November 2, 2025
Autumn at the Arboretum is a Dallas fall tradition. This year’s pumpkin village, made with over 110,000 pumpkins, squash, and gourds, pays homage to Mexican culture, contemporary art, and the harvest season. You’ll wander through seven iconic regions of Mexico, view alebrije-inspired sculptures by world-renowned Oaxacan artists Jacobo and María Ángeles, enjoy various market days, Halloween events, explore the entire arboretum, and take pumpkin bundles perfect for your front porch.
 

2. Dallas Farmers Market - Downtown Dallas

Support North Texas farmers! The Dallas Farms Market has over 25 varieties of pumpkins for sale, so while you're shopping for seasonal veggies, grab a pumpkin, too. They have plenty for carving and tons of decorative pumpkins and gourds that'll make your front porch shine. Afterward, grab a bite, shop the artisan shops, and enjoy spending the day downtown. 

3. Fritz Park Pumpkin Patch - Irving

Open October 4 - October 26, 2025 (Weekends only)
Animal Connection becomes a quaint pumpkin patch in October! Enjoy activities like a creepy bone dig, spooky bowling, and building blocks, plus a magic pumpkin garden, hay maze, and a spooky barn! Of course, the animals are a huge part of this experience; kids can take a pony ride, watch pig races, look at chickens “carve” pumpkins, and watch the lemurs play! Stop by the boo bakery for delicious treats, Frito pie, and some Witches Brew.

The Pumpkin Patch at Sunset Trail Farm - McKinney

There’s so much to do at this McKinney farm! Kids can enjoy a train ride, rubber duck races, a ball pit, cornhole, a roping pen, and more with general admission. Additional fun includes face painting, animal feed, crafts, and a pumpkin launcher. There are plenty of snacks to enjoy, including blackberry lemonade, giant pretzels, and kettle corn, food trucks, and of course, pumpkins! It’s recommended that you buy tickets in advance, as walk-up admission is limited.

5G Farm - McKinney

Open September 26 - November 2, 2025
Enjoy more than 10,000 pumpkins, over 35 artisan vendors every weekend, a 2-acre corn maze, tetherball, a petting zoo, hayrides, slushies, obstacle courses, and much more.

Blase Family Farm - Rockwall

Open September 20 - November 2, 2025
Located in the heart of Rockwall, this adorable family farm is perfect for little ones! Enjoy the petting zoo with llamas, sheep, donkeys, and pigs! Take a hayride through the trees and past the pick-your-own blueberry bushes. Wander through the pint-sized hay maze, follow Spookly the Square Pumpkin Storyboards on a walk, and after you pick the perfect pumpkin, take a pie home to enjoy.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm - Grapevine

Open October 3 - November 2, 2025
This historic farm in Grapevine is one of the few pumpkin patches in Dallas, Fort Worth, or the rest of the metroplex where you can pick your own pumpkin. This family-owned operation in Tarrant County features a 2-acre corn maze (admission included with your entry fee), pre-scheduled hayrides that run Wednesday through Sunday, as well as goats, sheep, chickens, and rabbits that kids can check out. Additionally, kettle corn and apple cider are available for snacks. The farm is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (open Monday, October 13, 2025). This is a cash-only operation, so bring your wallet!

Preston Trail Farms - Prosper

Open September 20 - November 27, 2025
This family-owned farm set along the historic Shawnee Trail is a destination worth checking out this fall season. The general store and petting zoo are open year-round, and the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm has fun activities like a hay maze, a farm train, and a roping pen. If you visit on a weekday, your admission price includes a small pumpkin from the patch!
 

North Texas Pumpkin Patches Worth the Drive

Team Family Farm - Aubrey

Open September 27 - November 2, 2025
You’ll find this farm just north of Denton, and it’s worth the drive! See and feed Texas Longhorn cattle, play on different playgrounds, let the kids explore the Half Pint Homestead area, take a barrel train ride, explore the hay maze, conquer the giant hamster wheels, pick your pumpkins, and enjoy the day. Cash is preferred, and closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Mainstay Farm - Cleburn

Open September 20 - November 2, 2025 (Weekends only)
The one with a Ferris Wheel! This incredible destination is a perfect fall day trip for DFW families. 30 minutes from Fort Worth, there are 30+ attractions: think jumping pillows, an apple cannon, a slide hill, hay rides, the World of Pumpkins, and much more.
 
There’s wine tasting for the parents, pumpkins for the kids, and food like street tacos, corn dogs, burgers, and Henry’s ice cream for the whole family.

Cobbins Family Pumpkin Patch - Sanger

Open October 4 - October 31, 2025 (Weekends Only)
Enjoy plenty of fun activities like a sand pit, tire mountain, lawn games, the toddler village, bounce houses, a craft station, and much more before picking out your pumpkin! Kids ages 3-12 receive a free mini pumpkin or gourd with their admission ticket. Although concessions are available on site, you're also welcome to bring your own picnic to the farm.

Kadee Farm - Greenville

This charming Christmas tree farm east of Dallas also does pumpkins! It’s worth the drive to enjoy acres of open space, playgrounds, photo ops, the Kadee Farm Western Town, all kinds of pumpkins, including Cinderella and classic carving pumpkins, donkeys to admire, and snacks to enjoy. 
 

Yesterland Farm - Canton

Open September 20 - November 2, 2025
If you’re going to go big, go to Yesterland. This destination farm is about 1.5 hours away from Dallas, and it’s a fall day trip worth taking with the kids. From mini coasters to a carousel, an apple blaster cannon, a petting zoo, three pumpkin patches, a corn maze, pumpkin painting, gem mining, and so much more, this is the ultimate pumpkin patch experience.

Other highlights include weekend fireworks, a you-pick zinnia and sunflower farm, a spooky after-dark Halloween experience, seasonal treats, and new in 2025, the Yesterwheel! Even better, most rides and attractions are included with your admission ticket, and parking is free.

Q. Do I need a reservation or ticket in advance?
